Ready-made modules for online stores and how a checkout talks to VerifAge.

Online stores use the same verification request as any website, usually at checkout or before adding a restricted product to the cart.
Modules
Modules for the common platforms wrap the Merchant API: you paste the API key in the module settings, press Test connection and choose where the age check appears. The module shows the QR next to the cart and unlocks the order once the request is approved.
Test connection calls GET /api/v1/merchant/ping, which returns your organisation name, the key mode and the public links (website, App Store, Google Play) the module displays next to the QR.
Custom integration
If no module fits your platform, integrate directly:
POST /api/v1/merchant/verify-requests
X-Api-Key: va_live_…
Content-Type: application/json
{ "external_reference": "order-10432", "callback_url": "https://shop.example/verifage/callback" }
external_reference is your own order id; it comes back in the callback so you can match the answer to the order. Keep the result with the order and do not ask the same customer again during the session.
Recommended placement
- Ask once per session, not once per product.
- Show the age check as early as the law requires and as late as the shopping experience allows, usually at checkout.
- Explain in one sentence what VerifAge is and that no personal data reaches the store.
