About us

VerifAge is an age-verification service built in France for the European market. It is published by SAS DIRECTBUY, a company registered in Nancy, and runs on infrastructure hosted in the European Union.

One decision shapes everything

We keep one fact about a person: whether they are of age. We do not store a date of birth, an age, a document number or the images used to reach the decision. A platform that keeps a selfie and a birth date for every user builds a liability; the purpose of age verification needs a single answer, and that is all VerifAge keeps.

Merchants see even less. A shop, a vending machine or a website learns only that the customer is verified or not. No name, no date, no document ever leaves VerifAge.

Where we come from

VerifAge started as an answer to a simple question from shop owners: how do we check age at the counter without slowing the queue and without photocopying identity cards? The first version put a QR code in the customer's pocket and a scanner in the cashier's hand. Websites, online stores and vending-machine operators followed, all using the same verified status.

What we believe

• Minimal data. Collect nothing the purpose does not need, and delete evidence as soon as a decision exists.
• Verified once. A customer should prove their age one time, not at every counter.
• European by design. GDPR, eIDAS-compatible digital identity wallets and hosting in the EU are the baseline, not a feature.
• Plain integration. A shop needs no hardware, a website needs two API calls, a machine needs a reader.
