The VerifAge app

Installing. Download the app from the App Store or Google Play, or scan the QR on the home page. Create an account with your e-mail and phone; both are confirmed with a code.

Verifying your age. Open Verify age and choose a method: a photo of your identity document with a short face video, a digital identity wallet such as France Identité, or a code from a partner shop where you are known. The result arrives in the app; most document checks take a few minutes.

Showing your status. The home screen shows your QR code. A cashier scans it, a machine reads it, a website shows a request you approve with one tap.

Renewing. The app tells you when a verification is about to expire. Renew with any method.

Problems. A refused check can be sent for human review from the verification screen. If the app cannot read your document, make sure the whole document is visible and the light is even.

The business cabinet

Registering. Choose Start for free, pick shop or site, fill in the organisation details and confirm your contacts. An administrator approves new organisations.

Operators. Add staff accounts under Users. Each operator signs in with their own account; every check is logged under their name.

Scanning. Open Scan QR code on any phone or tablet. Point the camera at the customer app or type the short code shown under the QR.

Adult customers. Regulars can be registered as adult customers of your shop; they are confirmed in one tap afterwards.

API keys. Under API keys create a test key for development and a live key for production. A key is shown once.

Places. Add every shop, bar, kiosk or machine as a place; places appear on the customer map.
